Replacing a single commercial chiller is a big deal. Swapping out three legacy York units and dropping in three high-efficiency Trane chillers? That's a whole different level of planning, coordination, and execution. That's exactly what our team just wrapped up - and we're proud of how it came together.
The logistics alone on a job like this are significant. Getting chillers of this size into a tight exterior corridor requires crane work, precise rigging, and a crew that knows what they're doing under pressure. We brought in a heavy-lift crane to extract the old York units and position the new Trane equipment onto the pads. Every lift has to be controlled and deliberate - there's no room for error when you're moving machinery this heavy in close quarters near an occupied building.
Site prep is something a lot of people don't think about, but it matters. Before the new equipment goes down, the pad has to be clean, cleared, and ready. Our guys put in the ground work to make that happen - pulling up the old iron, cleaning up the site, and getting everything staged correctly so the new units could go in cleanly. That kind of attention to the details you don't always see is what separates a clean install from one that causes headaches down the road.
Now that the physical placement is done, we move into the piping and commissioning phase. This is where the system actually comes to life. Every connection gets made, every circuit gets checked, and the units get dialed in for peak efficiency and performance. For a facility that depends on consistent process cooling and climate control, this step is just as critical as the installation itself. We don't hand off a system until we're confident it's running exactly the way it should.
Large-scale chiller changeouts like this are a core part of what we do, but it's just one piece of our commercial HVAC capabilities. From rooftop unit installations to full central plant upgrades, we handle the full scope - whatever your facility needs to stay efficient and reliable.
